Which boiler? Worcester 42CDi, Alpha CD50, Vaillant 838, 937

Hi,

I was wondering if someone had any practical experience of the following boilers:

Worcester Greenstar 42CDi or Vaillant Ecotec 838 (newer version of 837)

and/or

Alpha CD50C or Vaillant Superstore 937.

The mains coming into my house is running at around 21-24L/min. I will have two bathrooms, one shower.

Clearly the Alpha + Superstore are slightly different kinds of combi boiler as they effectively have a built in storage tank. Is this a recent phenomenon?

Any thoughts comments, appreciated.

Thanks

Personally, I lean towards the Vaillant, as I think they are super quiet and heat water quickly.

The storage ability is relatively new concept to allow hot water to be available regardless of the boiler state. In the winter when the heating is on, then you would probably not notice any difference with the hot supply. In the the summer say when the boiler is totally off, with a standard boiler, the primary has to be heated before the DHW which results in an extra delay before the hot reaches the tap.

Now with a good combi, this delay is minimal anyway and to most people is not a significant factor.
