Gas boiler heats rads, but not water - why?

I've had this problem for a few months now. The rads work OK, but the hot water starts to come through the taps only for a minute or so, then goes cold again.

I haven't managed to run a bath for months and If it weren't for my electric shower I'd not be pleasant to be around!

Engineers don't seem to be able to solve the problem.

Help?

We need the boiler make and model, as it could be many things

Sorry, I should have thought of that.

The boiler is a Ravenheat, between 6 and 8 years old. I don't know the model I'm afraid and it's in the loft, so very difficultfor me to get to.

Ravenheat - well know for the HW side of heat exchanger to clog up

If it's a combi - then it's probably a diverter or sensor fault.

clogged up domestic heat exchanger, manifolds or fault thermistors
