Noisy boiler.

by Bob » Mon Mar 05, 2007 4:09 pm

I have a 12 year old Ideal Classic RS240 boiler. It started knocking about 4 weeks ago after I had it serviced by a plumber. I got the plumber back and he re-aligned the burner which 'appeared' to reduce the noise but now it is as noisy as ever. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Take a look at the central heating projects on the website Bob. If you can't find the answer you can click through to the gas mans website and he will help you by email.

Hi Bob

Firstly - call the plumber back again. People should stand by their work, we do!

Secondly, it could be the result of air in the system, you do not say if it is a combi or system boiler.

Can you hear any other sounds which would indicate thate air was circulating around the system?
