Hi,

I have a Zilmet expansion vessel and an Altecnic filling loop for my central heating system. Unfortunately I have overtightend the valve from the filling loop and cracked the T piece. Do I have to replace this component exactly or can I assemble my own equivalent part with the right fittings?

Thanks for any advice

do you mean the plastic handle or the actual metal body?

It is the the metal body that connects the expansion vessel, pressure release valve, the incoming cold and to the heating pipe work. If it helps this image should illustrate the bit I've broken, it is the component with the brand name on it.

Google "altecnic.co.uk/images/robokitextra_bannerimg.jpg"

All the fittings are standard 1/2" or 3/4" so I didn't know if I have to source an identical aluminium part.

Thanks

replaced te entire lot, simplier as i don't think u can just get the valve section by it's self. Don't just fit a 15mm shut off valve as it will not have a non-return valve req'd by building regs
1/2 inch is equivalent to 15mm
3/4 inch is equivalent to 22mm
