Dripping noise coming from the Central Heating.

Hi,
I am looking for some advice regarding the dripping noise coming from the piping for the central heating. We have had this problem for the last 2 years or so and I have had it checked out and was told that the dipping noise was caused by a blockage within the pipes.
Over the 2 years period I have not had any complaints from the flat below saying that there is water leaking in.
Should just leave it or should get someone out to drain the pipes.
Thanks,
Simon.
