Why does 2yr old Greenstar 24i stop working for a few days

We are pensioners home all day.WB Greenstar 24i had its 2nd birthday last week. Dayton wireless room thermostat. Serviced twice.
Cold night about a month ago felt chilly one evening, next day (Friday) no heating. Checked everything - replaced batteries in room thermostat (just in case) no change. Rang Dayton did a couple of checks still no change - no apparent reason for failure. Told to wait a couple of days.
Next morning some heat then stopped again. Performed better on the Sunday, by Monday back to normal - assumed must have been batteries.
Serviced
This week: Wednesday night (very cold) felt chilly at the end of the evening. Thurs morning - no heating, checked system - no apparent reason for failure. Very late Thursday night heating suddenly restored - so not frozen condensate problem?.
Tomorrow - who knows? Can't get any assistance before Monday.
Can anyone suggest a reason for this failure? Thank you for any help
