Removing radiator to decorate

Hi, I need to remove 3 radiators so that I can strip and re-paper behind them. This is in a house that my daughter has just move in to so I have not had the rads off before. Am I right in thinking that I just need to turn the valves off at each end of the radiators, then drain and disconnect the rad from the valve. Replacement to be reversal of removal, followed by bleeding. One rad is downstairs and two up. Is there any order in which I should do them?

That's right and there's no order.
Just when refilling, vent downstairs - working up.
Make sure you know system type for refilling - pressurised ?

Is the system pressurised ? different systems require different filling/refilling techniques.
If you drain a pressurised system or remove radiators - you will have to refill and re-pressurise.
What type of system do you have ? what boiler ?

Hi, I have no idea what type of system it is, but the boiler is a Stelrad Ideal Classic, fitted 20 years ago. Hope this helps you to help me. Cheers
