Changing a single to a double-pipe central heating system

I am looking to replace my 20 year old central heating boiler with an energy efficient model but have noticed that my system is a very inefficient single pipe one. Is it worth changing to a double pipe system? The pipes are in concrete floors on the ground floor and under timber floors on the first floor. The system is a conventional, vented system with two tanks in the roof space but I would like to change this to a more efficient system.

In short, the answer is yes. Change to a two pipe system.

Yes change it. When one pipe systems go wrong they go very wrong and a planned replacement is better than changing the system, unplanned, while it's -5 degrees outside.
