Hi all, newbie here and am in need of urgent advice.

We have had our warm air central heating system serviced today since we've moved to the house and the Corgi guy issued us a warning notice and turned off our heater! He left without giving any structural advice as to how he would like to see the ventilation improve.

We need to get this sorted out asap as we are selling our house. We just need to find someone reliable and local in our area to come and give us advice and carry the work if necessary.

Please help.

Go to the CORGI website and look for an engineer in your area.

I just tried the search for an installer 'within 50 miles radius' using my postcode for installation of ventilation and it resulted none!

Contact the CORGI registered gas installer, that services the warm air unit. Ask him exactly what ventilation requires upgrading.

There should be two vents to the compartment where the boiler is, one at high level and one at low level.

There should also be vents in any doors or walls between the compartment and outside.

In other words there has to be a route from the warm air unit to the outside of purpose made ventilation

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the advice!

The doctor & Htg Engineer,

Thank you both for your input, it is much appreciated. After hours of phoning around, we have finally found someone who was willing to touch warm air units. He came round today and was very helpful with the work and now the issue is sorted and we have passed our safety check and got a safety cert!

Many thanks again.
