Internal bedroom - ventillation

Hi
I am creating a 2nd bedroom by erecting an internal partition wall. This room will be internal to the house with no windows / external walls. The joiner I have doing the work has suggested a ordinary airvent for ventilation. My infant son will be sleeping in the room. Is this sufficient?
Many thanks in advance

You must get approval from your local Building Control Department of the local Council.

Having an internal room may contravene Building Regulations on Ventilation and Fire Safety. Think what would happen if a fire started in the child's room and someone was trapped in the other room.
