Back Boiler Heat Circulation - Is it okay to Run Fire While Electricity is off?

by Down2school » Tue Feb 24, 2015 12:35 pm

We are having electrical work done tomorrow which means the power will be off from 9 to 5. We have a back boiler in the living room fire which takes heat into the central heating. Do such boilers usually operate using an electrical pump, and would it be dangerous to light the fire between 9 and 5 tomorrow? Or does convection do the job of circulating heat?

Many thanks.

Douglas.

Hi Douglas

Most systems these days require an electrical supply to operate. So without any more info of your system, the answer has to be no.
