How should I set about removing a ventilation brick in a bedroom wall like the one in my picture? I want to replace it with a sliding vent. I'm concerned I might destroy part of the wall if I try a hammer and chisel!

use a paint scrapper and hammer and gently tap all around the vent, it should come free.
