Worcester Green Star Boiler fan switching on and off before staying on

Our Worcester Green star boiler seems to be working okay but recently I have noticed that the fan kicks in , stops and then repeats this several times before staying on as required. Yesterday I was standing outside our house under the vent when I heard it stop/start several times but when I went back inside it was running okay.
Any suggestions?

Boiler not working at all yesterday morning so I contacted BG. Their guy located a fault in the three position valve actuator. Seems to be working now!
