New Bathroom Air Intake Ventilation Fan

Hi all.
I've recently upgraded my inline bathroom fan to a more powerful model (ACM100T) to combat mould problems and have noticed a small improvement, but still feel that it could work better than it does to shift the steam more quickly.
I'm almost certain that the lack of air intake into the room is the main issue (it's pretty airtight), as I'm happy with the ducting run to the outside and I know the fan is powerful enough. I know I could shave a few cm off the bottom of the door or install a vent, however I am concerned about increased noise levels coming out of the bathroom (my wife says I'm loud enough as it is...).
My question is, would it be feasible to fit a vent in the ceiling above the door to draw air in from the loft space? Would that provide the required air flow, or am I then risking moist air creeping into the loft?
