Worcester Greenstar Heatslave Oil Fired Combi Boiler and hot Water Advice

Hi, a friend of mine that I’ve been helping out int her new home has inherited a Worcester Greenstar Heatslave oil fired 18/25 boiler. I have to confess to knowing pretty much nothing about boilers but my understanding of a Combi is that hot water is pretty much instantaneous and limitless.
However, two things here confuse me; one, when using the shower the hot water tends to last no more than 1-2 showers before becoming cold. Secondly, there’s a programmer that allows you to select operating times for both the heating and water. I get why you’d have this for heating but not the water if it’s supposed to be permanently available.
Can anyone give me any guidance here?
Many thanks in advance,
