Which way Round for Central Heating Air Separator

My central heating has an air separator that looks like this one:

The pipe from the boiler comes in on the lower pipe on the left in the picture and the pipe out to the pump is the higher one on the right.

This don't seem right to me - just a simple diy householder - has it been put in the wrong way round???

Looks like I've found the answer myself. I found this document on the manufacturer website:

That shows a typical installation with the input from the boiler at the top and the output at the bottom.

I thought that installer was an idiot. Now I know
