Daikin Altherma 3 Hybrid frost protection

I move into a new build property in March 2020. It has a Daikin Altherma 3 hybrid heating system that can use gas or an air source heat pump. Haven't really worried too much about the system this year - it was off for more of the summer, but when on it seemed to make choices about what heat source to choose, as you'd expect.

With the cold spell in the last week however, we've become aware of a really irritating 'feature'. As far as I can well, when it's below 5 deg C outside, the system comes on every 15 minutes for a 5 minute cycle. The gas doesn't fire, and nothing shows on the display. In fact, this happens even when the system is switched off on the digital display.

I think it's some sort of in built frost protection for the heat exchanger. The only way I could switch it off was to pull the fuse on the entire heating system.

Why do I want to switch it off? The boiler is in the garage right under the bedroom, and having the system cycle every 15 minutes during the night is rather unpleasant.

Wondering if anyone has experience of this sort of thing? Is it possible to lower the temperature it cycles at?

Thanks!
