Hi All,
I need some advice regarding the use of a radiator to heat a single room.
My home has gas central heating, with a single radiator in the living room. Up to now, I've used a gas fire to heat my living room as I'm disabled and need heat in there 16 hours a day. I don't need the central heating on all the time.
A gas check has condemned the fire. My landlord wishes to replace it with an electric fire. As I've a radiator, my landlord states that using the one radiator all day is more efficient than a gas fire.
So my question is would the use of a boiler to heat one radiator all day be more efficient than a stand alone gas fire in my living room?
It's an old property. The rooms are small, but with high ceilings (around 12 feet high). I know electric fires are inefficient to use for 16 hours a day.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
