In my 40 year old bungalow, the underground central heating pipes have started leaking. I want to replace these with new piping run down from the loft to the radiators. It looks as if I will need approximately 6 down pipes to the 10 radiators. The boiler is about 5 years old and looks in good condition as are all of the radiators.

I'd be grateful if anyone can tell me a ball park figure for replacing the piping please.

Difficult to say unless you specify meters. If you're wanting cheapest, use plastic push fit piping, copper is pretty expensive at the minute. Push-fit fittings cost more than copper but there twice as quick to fit, with half the mess.

Can't really give a price as not sure what work is required.

What type of boiler ?
Will the pipes from the boiler go up a wall, or chimney breast ?
Is the loft boarded ? easily accessible ?
What size pipes would you want ? 15mm or 10mm with manifolds ?
Can all radiators be fitted with pipes dropping from the loft ? (no extensions)

Also it depends on if you want a company to do it, or a plumber on the 'on the side'.
