Moving combi boiler in a 3 storey town house

Hi guys,

I bought a 3 storey town house with the boiler in the middle floor, a Vaillant Ecotec Plus 832. It currently has 2 showers on floor 3 and 1 on floor 1.

I am planning to move the kitchen down to the garage with the boiler and take out the ground floor shower and build one on the middle floor. So will still have 3 showers, 2 on top and 1 on middle.

Will this cause any issues with regards to pressure and and/or anything else?

Thanks.

Hi monz87,
If you are ok with running 3 showers now moving the boiler should not make any significant difference. You may find that it takes longer for the showers to get hot and the pressure on the 3rd floor showers will be reduced.

Other than the time it takes for the water to get hot, will it actually reduce the flow rate of water to the shower? Even though its being pushed through at the same pressure?

Hi monz87,
If water is pumped vertically it will loose 1 bar of pressure for each 10m vertical lift. How much this will affect your 3rd floor shower will depend on the pressure/flow setting of your boiler.
