Hi there,

I’m building a new home, and am struggling to get some decent help from the air conditioning supplier in terms of placement.

Also, I live in Finland and don’t speak Finnish well, so I’m struggling with language barrier a bit.

Brief
* 2 story house
* Air conditioning unit upstairs
* Only two possible locations due to having an angled ceiling and high windows on external walls
* I’ve included a couple of images.
* The first one is the upstairs floor plan, and I’ve marked out two walls with red blocks.
* The other two are 3D models showing potential placements.

Potential Challenges
* Routing the piping through the walls to a good external location may becoming an issue for the main internal wall?
* The air con in the main wall would be above a stair case. Loss of cool air downstairs? Upstairs won’t get enough cool air flow?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

There are many types of air conditioning units, from pipe out of window, to unit fitted in window, to two part unit with refrigerant pumped between them to a stand alone unit which cools or heats a anti-freeze mixture which is pumped around fan assisted radiator.

In the UK heat pumps tend to work one direction only, they only heat the home, but they can work both directions both heating and cooling.

So there is very little we can do to help you, sorry.
