Where should I put the vents?

Hi there
Ive got semi-detached house with 4 chimney slots and noticed that there is not vents anywhere.
Could someone advise if I need one and where is the best place.
Info - chimney is not capped, and Ive taken out the partey wall in the main bedroom. For the latter the chimney hole will be covered by floorboard and above covered by insulation.
