Hi We have a large two bedroomed bungalow and are having problems with our bedroom. The bedroom is approx 35 sq ft and has two radiators. It doesnt get much sun on it so is always very cool in summer and cold in winter. We have built in wardrobes and drawers on an outside wall. In the winter clothes in the drawers seem damp and the carpet smells a bit fusty. Every now and then I put the dehumidifier on and get quite a bit of water in it. Does anyone know what the problem is and how we can solve it? We do have air bricks round the bottom of the bungalow and the floors are wooden boards.

Thanks

You're probably better posting this in the damp forum.

It may just be that the room is quite cool with it not getting much sun - so when the heating comes on you will get quite abit condensation build up and having the wardrobes on the outside wall probably wont help as the wall will be cold so the condensation will gather here.

Could you fit a air brick inside the cupboards to allow ventilation to circulate, or even a vent in the top of the wardrobes may help.
