I don't know what make or model of boilers they are installing.
Have you contacted BG to ask for the boiler make and model ? I suggest asking them.
Once you have the boiler make and model let us know, and we can give our views on the boilers they're installing (if we have installed or worked on them)

Firstly what type of boiler do you want ? a combi or system boiler ?
BG330- A Rated - Exclusive to BG
BG532 Combi Exclusive to BG
Haven't had anything to do with the above boilers. I think they are basically a glow-worm boiler, and i wouldn't have one. They're known for PCB faults.
British Gas / Baxi Duo Tech - baxi are good reliable boilers, cheap for parts and easy to work on so saves on labour costs.
British Gas / Worcester-Bosh 28iHE - Condensing Combi Boiler, worcester get a good name but are more expensive for spare parts. Worcesters I have worked on are not straight forward, parts are not easily accessible - will add to labour costs.
British Gas / Potterton Promax 15/2 HE Plus - this is a system boiler. Potterton are pretty much the same as baxi.
I would shop around though - BG might offer discount on their boilers but they're not cheap for installations. You can probably get a local CORGI heating engineer to supply and fit a boiler cheaper.

One Last question.
Is it possible to get a straight forward simple system boiler without all the new facy controls. Something that can be switched on by a simple thermostat like my current out of date Kingfisher? I am a retired Chartered Eng and used to design and Commission Gas and Oil Plant and Offshore Oil / GasPlatforms and it seemed easier to select a 35MW Gas Turbine than a Gas Boiler. Is there such a simple efficient Boiler out there?

How old is your potterton kingfisher ? the last model - MF kingfishers are good boilers and should last for many more years, I work on kingfishers quite abit and there's not alot go wrong with them.
Have a look on potterton website
follow - products - gas products - floor standing
Potterton Promax FSB 30 HE condensing boiler - it's the same size and looks like the kingfisher and not a bad price.

Thanks for your response. My current boiler must be 15 Years Old and apart from the "Clanging Noise" works fine. It's a Kingfisher II CF50 Open Flue Boiler with Vented CH +DHW. It would be nice to have an Open Flue Boiler as I aready have a lined chimney allthough that is not a major problem to overcome. The reason for changing it is that I'm told its very inefficient.
