I have a ‘living flame’ gas fire in my living room with an air brick through an outside wall to provide ventilation.
Problem is the draft from the air brick is very strong (and cold). Would an air brick behind the fire (same outside wall) provide adequate air flow?
The ‘burner’ part of the fire seems to be contained and air would be drawn round the fire and in the front, the same as from the original air brick.

Read your fire manufacturers instructions - it will state the amount of ventilation required.

You can place the vent anywhere - in the same room as the fire. The pull from the flue will draw air into the room via the vent - so it doesn't have to be in a place where wind/air is forced into the vent.

DONT fit air vent in flue/fire opening-consult your local CORGI Registered engineer to find out why not. gjp

What do you mean by behind the fire ?

You can't fit an air brick inside the fire opening.
