My house is 35 years old and is built on a sloping site. The concrete paths all around the house abut the building and are showing their age with gaps opening up where the paths meet the walls. Cracking has also occured where the levels change. I am concerned that water is draining through these gaps and in some cases the water now drains towards the building instead of away from it. Any suggestions as to how best I can repair the problem?

Quick fix is clean and rake out all cracks (make bigger if nec) then use a sealant in joint if small or re-point with strong mortar if large.Long fix is rip it all out and re-lay whilst using a DPM, Ties and expansion joints say every 1.8 metres. HTH
