SLIDING GATE INSTALLATION

Hi Guys,
I need to install a sliding gate on a track system and would welcome your advice as to how I can concrete in the sliding rail where the driveway is sloping.
My initial thoughts are that I should make the area between both gate posts level. However I am unsure as to:
-how deep a trench I should dig
-whether or not I should have a layer of hard core (6" maybe?);
-how to ensure the water falls away on either side?
-how far from the posts should the sliding rail be set?
A suggestion has also been made using 4 concrete gravel boards but I haven't got a clue as to how I would go about using them as I already have some and would ideally like to use them.
Many Thanks and your advice would be thankfully received.
