Is a retaining wall for a driveway subject to any building controls or regulations?

The wall in question will be 12 metres long and 1.2 metres high to support a driveway 5 metres deep that slopes towards my property (about a 1 in 15 slope).

Also any advice would be that anyone could give me in regards to foundations and constuction of this wall would be helpful

I'm not sure on this but I doubt you need planning permission. That is quite a wall to build though so get a proper builder in to do it or very reputable driveway/walling company.

I remember doing one once that was a meter at highest point and we had to use a top specification. Pillars every so often and backed it up with concrete etc...
