Concrete Slab with footings advice needed please

by dunny1234 » Tue Nov 22, 2011 6:45 pm

I'm preparing ground for concrete slab. I've now dug my slab area (10m x 6m), and 225mm deep footings around the perimeter and up the centre as recommended by structural engineer (where timber frame panels will be).

I've started to lay my sub-base (803), next will be a layer of sand. After this i plan to construct my formwork around the perimeter, lay my DPM, place steel mesh and then pour concrete.

I think i'm doing this the correct way? Any advice would be gratefully received? Really want it to be right before the scary pour of concrete

Thanks in advance

you will have to contact the building control officer before you proceed to pour the concrete. He is the best person to advise you

If you’re having problems calculating how much concrete you need, Google "tarmac.co.uk/concretecalculator"
It works quite good on my moby as well.
