Curved decking. Help!

by shackett11 » Fri Jun 29, 2012 11:35 pm

So how do I do my curved decking?

Its going inside the rendered walls, and sitting flush with the front edge

Would like to cut the edges to the boards on a radius, to form a constant gap around the inside edge.
Thought about setting the boards out on the driveway, and marking them out?

Joist setting out, how can I best ensure all the ends of the boards are picked up by a joist (decking to run from left to right of the picture)?

Any hints and tips?

Any guides I have come across, all have the boards hanging over the edge of the perimeter joists, and they are cut off neatly after they have been fully fixed down.

Any ideas would be appreciated

lay your joists and fix solidly.Lay your first plank central to the widest part first, put the plank on top of the wall level it and mark and cut, then work back marking and cutting a little piece at a time, always cut a little bit bigger than you need you can always cut again.
A jigsaw is ideal for this type of work.
