Patio problem, please advise

Hello,

Me and my partner are currently in the process of buying a house and are looking for some advice. Granted this won't be a diy job as I'm knaff at it, but where best to ask for honest advice?

We have had a survey done on the house and have found out that their outside patio is on level with the damp proof course which runs outside the kitchen, say a wall of 2-3m in length. We have been advised to lower the patio, whether or not this means gutting the patio and starting a new we are unsure but we presume knowing our luck it will be this expensive option.

Is there a not so costly fix for our problem?

Many thanks in advance to any help given.

Mike

Lift all the slabs next to the wall. Cut off six inches. Dig down about 6 inches and 6 inches in to form a small trench and re-lay slabs. Fill trench with pea-shingle to below damp course.
