Block Paving Step to Brickwork Sealing

Hello - long time lurker - first time poster!
I'm after a bit of advice with regards to the attached photograph!
We've recently had a block paving driveway installed - together with a new step which was built up over the old step.
This has in turn increased the level of the step - but to be honest, it suits - especially with having to use a buggy!
But - my only issue is that the step itself hasn't been sealed properly where it meets the brick wall / bell cast pebble dashed section, leaving a gap - which is increasingly being filled up with sand!
I was considering using some kind of waterproof / water repellant screed or cement, or some other kind of sealant.
I considered some expanding foam - which I'd cut and then use some silicon sealant - but I genuinely haven't got a clue.
Any ideas!?
Thanks!
Tom
