Laying a Big Concrete Base for Log Cabin

by CarlP1981 » Mon Aug 01, 2016 3:14 pm

Hi All,

Just trying to get some advice in regards to what you would do when laying a concrete base.

The base I need is fairly large at around 6.5m x 5.5m Picture attached of the current space on which I am going to build the cabin.

As you can see from the pictures there is a concrete path in the middle of where I want to lay but don't necessarily want to smash it out as was wondering if I can pour over it?

Really interested in how you would go about it.

With it being a log cabin, airflow under the cabin is needed to keep it dry and off the ground.
I would suggest building a series of brick/block pillars with beams for the cabin to sit on.
