Patio Height and Damp Course but With Linear Drain

Hi,

My patio is only 75mm below the damp course but has a linear drain running along the edge of the house. I know the rule is 150mm but technically it is the top of the linear drain that is 75mm below the dpc and the ground height next to the house is well below the 150mm. Is this OK and if not is there anything I can do to reduce the risk of damp.

Thanks

yes ideally its best to have it 150mm below damp course, but I cant see any problems from the pictures you posted, During heavy rain you may experience splash back on the wall but doubt if this would cause you damp, You can spray the wall with a silicone sealant like aquaseal for piece of mind

Many thanks for your reply.

Will a silicone sealant still allow the bricks to breath and how many courses should I cover?
