Mortar Stains on Indian Sandstone

Hi all,
Where do I start :( I decided to lay some Mint, sawn and honed, I tried to keep cement off but it`s nigh on impossible, from splashes, to me generally being messy, but I thought they`d jet wash off, it has left unsightly stains, I`ve been told by the supplier not to use brick acid, I`ve used a jet wash with limited success,I`m gutted as it seems there is no products out there.
