SECURING A GARAGE DOOR

by folester » Fri Apr 13, 2007 10:10 am

I've just moved into a house and the garage has got no lock.

I've brought a hasp and padlock, but was wondering whether I could drill directly through the metal up and over door to fit the screws and bolts etc

Or is the hasp lock only really suited to wooden doors?

All these things seem more complicated than they first appear...Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

No problem with using a hasp and staple on a metal door. Just use a high speed drill bit and bolts. Some builders fit H & S to the back doors of their vans. See the link for a good drill bit set.
