Does my house need DPC ?

I am noticing some black damp stains at the lower corners of the wall in kitchen, living room, bedroom etc.

These black stains are quite easy to clean though. Are these stains because of moisture in the air OR is it due to some other reason needing damp proof treatment.

Also the laminate flooring in the living room as bulged slightly in some areas.
Is this somehow related to the above as well ?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Is the bedroom on the ground floor ?

Try ventilating the house, by opening windows to start - if you see an improvement open up - or install airbricks.

As for the laminate flooring, yes it could be linked - but before going down that route. Has anything been spilt on the floor ? have expansion gaps been left around the floor as now the weather is getting warmer the floor will expand slightly with the heat - if there's no gap it'll lift.

Thanks for your reply.

No the bedroom is on the first floor.
Will try to ventilate the house daily and see if that makes any difference.
There are some airbricks already installed on the 3 sides of my (semi-detached) house.

I am not able to spot any gaps in the laminate flooring either.Wonder if that is indeed causing the floor to bulge.

Cheers,
