Air Brick and DPC

Hi
I have airbricks that are just under the DPC of my house. A concrete floor out side the house that is level with eh bottom of the airbrick. The house is a suspended floor bungalow.
There is therefore no "rain bounce" gap in bad weather.
IF I take out the airbrick (twobrick height) and replace it with single brick height airbricks that will give the same if not more ventilation.
Question:
1. Can an airbrick span across the DPC if the DPC goes either under or over the airbrick? ie half above and half below the DPC.
