Do I need to Damp Proof?

by lollygee00 » Mon Jun 23, 2008 12:57 pm

I have just purchased a terrace house and the survey results said there was a high damp reading in some places. I have had a damp proofer round and this was evident in some areas. However there are no signs of damp, no smell, no mould etc. So im wondering, had I been living in this house for a number of years i would not have even had a damp proofer round in the first place! Therefore my question is does it really need doing? What will happen if i leave it? I only intent to live in the house for about 5 years so would it be ok for the next few years??

Thanks
