Damp proof course

by dickie » Wed Jul 23, 2008 6:56 am

The DPC course in my semi is just 4 cm above ground level. Ground is block paving over sand then concrete. It is a major job to lower ground level. Should I get a DPC injection done or as there has been no problem leave it and act if a problem occurs?

Can you get the person who did the block paving to do it properly?

If you are thinking of selling, then a surveyor could pick it up.

If your staying put, don't worry too much unless you develop damp, one of the reasons the DPC should be 150mm above ground is because of rain bouncing off the ground and up the wall.
