Isolated damp patches on wall (near air bricks)

Can anyone help?
I have a 1900's end terrace property and i have had various problems with damp. I had a rising damp problem and had a new damp proof course added which has resolved the problem.
HOwever i still have some isolated damp patches higher up on the wall and a few around the chimmney breast. This is causing the platser work to peal off and is staining the paint work. It also feels damp to the touch. On the other side of the wall air bricks have been added and these do seem to correspond with the damp patches on the other side of the wall. However I am pretty sure these air bricks have been added for the gas fire.
I have also looked at the flashing and tiles in the roof and there does not seem to be any problems. There are also no damp patches in the bedroom upstairs which also houses the chimmney stack.
Does anyone know what could be causing this problem, how I could resolve this or who I should call out to look at it.
