Like others, have had probs in the past with mold behind furniture on out side walls. What if I srew sheets of plastic behind my bed. Would the condensation land on that and so I could wipe it off, or would it get behind the plastic?

As with any damp / condensaton issue, I would strongly recommend getting to the route cause of the problem, rather than treating the sympton like many 'specialist' companies do. Condensation occurs when the moisture within the air reaches its dew point and turns into water droplets, this typically occurs on cooler surfaces such as external walls and windows. Basic things first, move the bed away from the wall to create air flow, ensure mecahical extractor fans are used in the kitchen and the bathoom etc.
Hope this helps
