DAMP IN MIDDLE OF HOUSE

i have a wet patch on an internal wall in the centre of the house it is both sides of the wall ie on the living room and hallway less then a foot in dia. the paint is wet flaky and smells fusty . i do know the external pointing needs doing and have heard suggestions that the external walls may be so wt this is causing an internal problem ..... any suggestions

i have the same, its rising damp due ot the internal walls not having a blue brick course for some daft reason.

It could be a leaking pipe. This is the most common cause of dampness on internal walls.

Do you have solid Floors?
Problems can occur on internal walls , if the floor has been filled in .
The reason being is many companies who do under pinning and concrete floors do not allow for the damp proof course , and once filled in are above this .
