I HAVE DAMP ON MY BEDROOM WALL, THAT IS RISING FROM THE BOTTOM UP. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE WET. I WANTED TO KNOW IF I WOULD REQUIRE A DAMP PROOF COURSE OR JUST SOME MORE AIR VENTS IN MY WALL.

Dear Mackay,
Normally Mould indicates only a Condensation problem, but occasionally this can hide an underlying building fault that is making the wall cold - for example an external water leak, running overflow or blocked gutter.
To be sure check your outside walls carefully for defects, stains and moss.
If you want some help feel free to send some inside and outside photos to me for free analysis. I used to Survey buildings for a living.
Regards,
David Moore

You have a ventilation problem in the room.
