I own a Victorian basement flat and it has severe damp on many internal walls. I had it treated by KenWood some years ago but it doesnt seem to have fixed it.

Can anyone recommend a reputable damp specialist that doesnt cost the earth? I have about 3-4 walls that need addressing and need to get a feel for how much it will cost to repair.

It is interesting that you have used Kenwood previously and that their treatment has not worked.

I would like to warn everyone against used Kenwood. In my opinion they are unprofessional, aggressive and incompetent.

I employed Kenwood two years ago to damp-proof my home. It has not worked and plaster is falling away from the walls. For over a year, Kenwood denied that there was even a problem. They have finally admitted that they is a problem and say that they will come and re-do the work but I have no confidence in their work since I have no explanation as to why it has failed nor why it would work a second time. I have sought advice from a number of other sources and it would appear that Kenwood's original quote and treatment was inadequate, it also seems that they have a very bad reputation within the building industry. Since I have no faith in Kenwood's workmanship, I have requested my money back, but they refuse. I have now submitted the claim to court in the hope that I will win back the costs I have entailed. Interestingly I wrote a complaint to the PCA who have done nothing as yet.

My advice is DO NOT USE KENWOOD. They are charlatans.
