How long for wall to dry?

Hi,
Had a damp problem caused by leaking downpipe. Problem only came to light after I put up new shelves and effectively blocked in the corner.
I have fixed the downpipe, cleaned the mould, and I want to put the shelves back but the very corner is still damp. So - how long do I need to wait for this to dry - any ideas? Walls are solid 9" thick, west facing.
If I put the shelving back now, am I asking for trouble?
Any thoughts or advice would be great!
Thanks,
David.
