Vertical lines of damp and mould one meter apart

Vertical lines of damp and mould one meter apart on a freshly plastered wall.
We've recently moved house, and had a damp course put into a wall, which then needed replastering.
We've since been waiting for the wall to dry, but noticed that, when it rained, patches of the wall seemed to get darker again. There are noticable vertical lines one meter apart, along with a few other patches too.
Today I've noticed mould growing there, and am now worried.
Any ideas of cause/ solution?
It's in the kitchen, which is an extension, and the bathroom's above. I was hoping the peculiar pattern of this damp could be some clue.
