Damp Proofing - wall damae amount?

Hi, I am just moving into a new property, and a few of the walls came up as needing "damp proof course" in the survey. This is fine, but what actually needs to be done? Is it a simple injection?

I ask because I need to get my telephone and television cables sorted in some of the walls and don't want to do this, only to find that they have to be ripped out because of the damp proofing procedure and re-installed by the cable company again.

So, if a damp course is needed, does the cabling involved in cable tv like Virgin Media also need to be reinstalled, or can I go ahead and install that without any worry that it needs to be re-done?

Many Thanks
