find a central heating leak in stud walling?

by Tracey86 » Tue Oct 12, 2010 4:17 pm

My wood flooring is rising up in patches on the ground foor of my house and my central heating boiler keeps loosing presure, i know there is a leak but other than the patches of damp appearing over the whole of the ground floor i cannot find the leak, as the ground floor is on a slight level difference i'm guessing it can only be coming from 1 of 2 radiators at the highest level, it is foil backed plaster board so there is no damp displaying on the walls or ceiling, i have checked all the plumbing joints in the stud walling connecting to the radiator where the floor has risen the most and they are dry, i have also checked the plumbing in the ceiling connecting the radiator which is also dry, its is only a very minor leak which is over time doing a lot of damage, can anyone advise me on the best way to find where the leak is coming from?
