Condensation on Old Chimney After Chimney and Breast Removed in Upstairs Bedroom

Some time in the past a previous owner removed the fireplace and the chimney breast in an upstairs bedroom. In the kitchen below the chimney breast for an old cooking range had also been removed. The kitchen chimney was then used as a boiler flue but now removed and sealed. So all internal signs are gone in both rooms - there are no vents. We have since had the chimney itself removed and taken down to just below the gutter and sealed over. There had clearly been some sorts condensation problem in the bedroom as the wall has been lined with thin polystyrene underneath the wallpaper. I have now stripped the wall back to the plaster and painted with emulsion but there is quite a large area of what I assume is condensation where the chimney breast used to be. I would welcome suggestions as to what to do. The house is Edwardian in age.
